Core Training

Core Training for spoken language interpreters

The Language Interpreter Training Curriculum is a competency-based training program for interpreters working with Language Interpreter Service Agencies associated with the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI) now known as Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade (MCIIT), and funded by the Government of Ontario, as part of the Violence Against Women Prevention Initiatives and the Domestic Violence Justice Strategy (VAWP/DVJS). The training is consistent with the National Standards Guide for Community Interpreters and the Language Interpreter Training Course (LITC) offered by community colleges across Ontario.

Upon completion of the training, trainees will be required to complete the final written and audio tests and achieve a pass mark of 75% for each test.
